Common Questions
Can photo fabric blocks be washed?
Absolutely! Our photo fabric blocks are designed to be used in quilts that will be loved, cuddled, and washed.
We use a professional sublimation printing process that permanently bonds the ink into the polyester fibers instead of leaving it sitting on the surface. During printing, the ink turns to gas and becomes part of the fabric itself. That means your printed photos stay vibrant wash after wash without cracking, peeling, or fading like surface-printed products.
The fabric feels just as soft after printing as it did before it was printed.
Take a look at a block that has been washed and dryed 5 times!
Do you add the seam allowances?
Yes! You simply order the finished size you want your photo block to be, and we take care of the rest.
We automatically add the ¼-inch seam allowance around the outside of your photo, so once you’ve trimmed your block, it’s ready to sew into your quilt.
If you’re ordering Fat Quarters of Photos, we’ve done the math for you there too! Each photo is spaced ½ inch apart, giving you a ¼-inch seam allowance around every image. Just cut between the photos, and each block is ready to piece into your quilt.
No calculating, resizing, or guessing—just trim, sew, and enjoy creating your quilt!
What type of fabric do you use?
We print exclusively on our premium 100% polyester poplin fabric that has been carefully selected and tested for exceptional photo quality, color vibrancy, and durability.
Using our own specially chosen fabric allows us to produce consistent, beautiful results every time. Because of our printing process, we do not print on customer-supplied fabric.
We have several fabrics for you to choose from:
Poly poplin (the most popular)
Snuggle Velour
Satin
Ivory Linen
Felt
Fleece
Are my photo fabric blocks ready to sew when they arrive?
Yes! Every photo block arrives ready to cut and piece into your quilt.
As a part of the printing process, we fuse a lightweight sheer interfacing to the back of each printed panel. This gives the fabric added stability, helps prevent stretching while sewing, and makes cutting and quilting much easier.
Simply trim your blocks and start creating!
How long does it take to receive my order?
Most orders ship within one week.
Because I travel throughout 2026 teaching and demonstrating quilting and embroidery products at quilt events around the country, there may occasionally be a slight delay while I’m on the road. If that happens, I’ll keep you updated so you always know the status of your order.
What is the largest size you can print?
Our maximum print size is 18″ × 23″, making it perfect for large quilt centers, memory quilts, wall hangings, and custom sewing projects.
If you need multiple coordinating photo blocks, we’re happy to print those too!
Do you print custom sizes?
Yes!
If you need a size that isn’t listed on the website, just send us a message using the chat feature on our homepage. We’ll let you know what’s possible and be happy to create a custom size for your project whenever we can.
Can I talk to a real person if I have questions?
Absolutely! I love helping customers with their photo quilt projects.
The quickest way to reach me is through the chat feature on the website. Simply send me a message along with your phone number or email address, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, because of the large number of spam calls we receive, we don’t publish a direct phone number—but I promise you’re communicating with a real person who genuinely wants to help make your project a success!

What resolution should my photos be?
For the sharpest, most vibrant photo fabric prints, your image should ideally be 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the size you want it printed. A minimum of 150 DPI is recommended for a clear, quality print.
Use the chart below as a general guide to determine whether your photos have enough resolution for the size you’d like to order.
